This painting is part of the Nostalgia exhibition, in which I explored visual interpretations of several musical modes and Andalusian muwashahat

Its Algerian Andalusian heritage.

The Maqam (musical mode) used is Mohair Iraq and it is sung by Mohammed ALKORD.

The lyrics of this poem/song express a sense of longing and heartbreak, with the singer addressing their beloved and expressing how their love has made them unable to sleep or eat. They also express fear of punishment and ask for God's help and patience.
